In July of 1983 her son, Christopher, was born. Cindy chose to be a stay at home mom. This did not, however, decrease her intention to continue with her art. In the late 80s she was approached by some of her friends to reproduce some of her art on tee shirts. At first this was done just for fun and for free. Cindy then discovered that there was a real market for custom hand painted tee shirts and Cindy's Special Tees was born. The garage was converted into a studio and production began. Cindy became a regular at many craft shows in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Every tee shirt and sweatshirt that she sells is hand painted by Cindy. Each year during her busy holiday season she hand paints well over 5,000 tee shirts and sweatshirts. Every tee shirt and sweatshirt that she sells is given the same hands on care and attention to detail.

The one area of business that has grown the most over the years is the stick figures. Specialized stick figures showing families, grandchildren, classrooms, sport teams, band members or just about any group you can think of have been put on tee shirts. These make unique gifts and many people even return them for updating when a new family member is added.

Cindy has clients all over the United States, Canada and even some in Europe. This web site has been designed to help introduce new customers to the many talents and products of Cindy's Special Tees and to make it easier for her many existing customers and friends to stay updated on new product developments.

About Cindy

Cindy's Special Tees is the creation of Cynthia H. Chambers. (Cindy to her friends, family and business associates and Mrs. Chambers to the Paradise Valley High School Marching Band where she was voted the best band mom ever).

As a classically-trained artist with a degree in Art Education from Indiana University, Cindy spent much of the 70s and 80s doing oil and watercolors for friends and family. No thought was given to selling these gems as they became prized family possessions and remain such to this day.
